When the Troubles in Northern Ireland were still 'live', Damian Gorman made 'DEVICES OF DETACHMENT', a verse documentary for BBC2 exploring the role of the non-combatant in a time of conflict. The film was described by leading critics as 'a television masterpiece' and 'a work of great integrity'. It was selected as one of the 12 best public service programmes in the year of its making. Damian will introduce this evening's screening, and is happy to discuss the 30-minute film afterwards.
