Nature writing workshop in poetry and prose, with writer
Chris Kinsey, exploring the tranquil setting of Penrallt rocks.
This workshop on crafting words and metres uses Penrallt, the unusal natural feature and characteristic backdrop to the town of Machynlleth, as its inspitration.
We'll begin with an informal session at the bookshop, where Chris will read from her latest poetry collection: Muddy Fox published by Rack Press exploring some of her own inspirations.
Participants can then choose whether to take the short but steep walk up Penrallt to, as Wordsworth said, “Let Nature be your teacher” or work indoors from prompts and items from Penrallt – objects, photos of views and features will be available to work from. We’ll then move toMOMA for a coffee/tea break and tofocus on our writing.
