Gallery exhibitor info
We particularly encourage photographers still using film (we have a small b&w darkroom). Our annual open submission is one way to identify emerging photographers and our next exhibition is by Tom Teichmann, who has regularly submitted photographic work.
We have 6 exhibitions each year, which we originate and curate, increasingly focusing on photography. The space is provided free and we take on the cost of the mounting and framing of the exhibitions (which we do ourselves), for which we take an agreed percentage of the gallery sales. We also sell mounted prints from a cradle and have work from past exhibitions for sale. We record each of the shows for our own archive, so take a look at our gallery page to get an idea of current and past exhibitions, and what we can provide.
Annual Open Submission
Our Open Submission photography exhibition invites enthusiasts, hobbyists and professionals, local and not-so-local photographers to take part. A theme is announced in the Spring, with a deadline in early September - providing time for people to develop ideas and, ideally, to make new work. Our aim is to include one image from each photographer in the exhibition, either on the wall or in a print cradle.
The theme for the 2016 Open Submission Photography Exhibition is NIGHT.

We support photographers in the region, particularly if they have not exhibited before, making available all of our gallery wall space (about 45 linear feet or 20-30 frames) for their work. There are a lot of unrecognised, high-quality and creative photographers around and one of the exciting aspects of having gallery space is the freedom and privilege of selecting photographers, entirely based on our own judgment, whose work has come to our attention either through entry to our Annual Open Submission, or other group exhibitions. We particularly support photographers who use film. Check the links to photographers whose work we have shown, and other links we recommend.
